03The building
The building on the lot
Building on Vees Drive took 11 months and $25 million. The project added 45,000 square feet for entertainment and gave Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, the company running Cascades, its first MATCH rooftop patio. On the floor are more than 400 slot machines, along with 5 gaming tables, 4 electronic table games and 1 poker table.
From Sunday to Thursday the floor runs 10 a.m. to midnight. On Friday and Saturday it goes on until 2 a.m. the following morning. Table games follow a shorter schedule that starts on Wednesday and ends on Sunday night; Monday and Tuesday have no posted table hours. Holiday hours are not published, so a call to 250-487-1280 confirms them. The inside page covers the floor in more detail.

Rules at the entrance
- Only adults 19 and older may enter, and they need valid government-issued photo ID; at the door, security scans it and checks it against the province's barred list.
- Security may search bags and parcels, and alcohol brought from outside, illegal drugs and weapons are kept out.
- Photos, filming and live streams inside need authorization first.
- Anyone enrolled in Game Break, BCLC's self-exclusion program, is not let in.
08Online in B.C.
The provincial rule for online gambling
In British Columbia, gambling is legal only when run by the provincial government, with BCLC managing casinos and online play for it. The only site where online gambling is legal in the province is PlayNow.com, operated by BCLC and open to players 19 and older.
The Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO), which regulates gambling here, says every other online site accepting B.C. players operates illegally in the province. The paid links on this page lead to one such private site. It is neither licensed nor regulated in B.C., and Game Break, PlayNow limits and IGCO complaints do not reach it. The help page lists the support lines.

Who to call in B.C.
- Gambling Support BC takes calls at 1-888-795-6111 at any hour, at no cost and in confidence, from anyone in B.C., including people affected by a relative's gambling.
- Game Break, the provincial self-exclusion, runs for 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years, the term stays fixed once picked, and enrolment works in person at any casino with photo ID.
- Cascades Casino Penticton turns away people enrolled in Game Break at its entrance.
